Future challenges, including climate change and the resulting unpredictability of precipitation patterns and temporal or permanent water scarcity, generate a high diversity of demands on water treatment technologies obliging them to be able to cater towards a variety of source and target water qualities across multiple scales, depending on application. It is evident that this will generate a market pull towards the development of new water treatment technologies, employing new materials or improving the integration of existing technologies.
NOWELTIES is a MSCA Action project of Horizon 2020 with the primary objective to organize a platform (European Joint Doctorate) that will provide cutting edge training opportunities for the education of tomorrow`s water treatment experts.
The Final NOWELTIES Scientific Conference (11th and 12th May) will disseminate the project results to the broader community (researchers and end-users) and will combine keynote presentations from invited speakers (international experts) with presentation from the NOWELTIES fellows and other project participants, covering topics:
The aim of the Workshop: What after NOWELTIES? (13th May) is to point out and discuss career development opportunities for young professionals, both in the academia and in industry.
The conference and workshop will be open not only to project participants but also to third party attendees (PhD students from other European universities) which will provide an excellent opportunity for NOWELTIES fellows to network more broadly with their peers.
The conference will present the results of research carried out within the EU project NOWELTIES. The results will be presented in the form of oral and poster presentations. All presentations will be published in the form of a Book of Abstracts.
