TRAINING OF TEACHERS IN
GENERAL/FAMILY PRACTICE

SYMPOSIUM:
Exchanging Teaching Experience
May 9-10, 2003, IUC, Dubrovnik, Croatia

Final Announcement

Background
The annual Dubrovnik Course "Training of Teachers in General/Family Practice" was established in 1983. The course developed from the ideas of the Leeuwenhorst Group, a group of GPs teachers promoting the development of General Practice as an academic discipline, and as a specialty in its own right. Dubrovnik became its venue thanks to the presence of the Inter-University Centre, receiving subscriptions from more than 200 universities worldwide, promoting intellectual creativity and collaboration between scientific, artistic and academic disciplines in different countries. Over the past twenty years, more than 450 GPs teachers all over Europe and from a few other countries have participated in a one-week course on "Training of Teachers in General/Family Practice", each year discussing and exchanging experiences in another topic. This year, in 2003, the scientific activities will be divided into two parts:
Course: Teaching Medical Students Essentials of General Practice/Family Medicine
May 5-8, 2003 IUC, Dubrovnik, Croatia
Symposium: Exchanging Teaching Experience
May 9-10, 2003 IUC, Dubrovnik, Croatia
