Course description:

Our topic is semantic indeterminacy.  Examples are presupposition failure, vagueness, and open texture.  This indeterminacy arguably arises in ordinary language, in the more technical languages of the sciences and even mathematics, and in the law.  Talks will explore how and where this indeterminacy arises and what the possible responses to it are.
