Course description:

STAFF MOBILITY FOR TRAINING

Digital skills have become an irreplaceable asset of working in higher education for both teachers and students. The Covid-19 pandemic only emphasised the relevance and necessity of these skills. In the field of international cooperation in higher education, these skills opened up a new world of opportunities for connecting teachers and students and for connecting institutions, cities, countries, and regions across borders.

This training course & seminar is intended for professionals in teaching on all levels of higher education, who have an interest in digital teaching practices in an international environment. It aims first at sharing examples of and experiences with innovative practices as well as knowledge and ideas about digital teaching in an international environment. Secondly it aims at providing a testing ground for participants: an opportunity to actively experiment with and experience the functioning of digital platforms, multi-functional spaces, and tools for digital teaching and online international cooperation.

This two-and-a-half-day program provides a mix of on location and -hybrid- and online activities. Participants are invited to bring their own practices and tools to the training course & seminar. The program has a flexible setup that allows for adding ‘pop-up’ workshop sessions on the spot: on location, online or hybrid. This includes space for initiatives of and options for colleagues who do not physically travel to Dubrovnik.

Enhancing digital teaching practices is, among others, presenting results from the WITEA-ID project; a transnational project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, that draws on existing and emerging digital and international mobility competencies and skills needs in higher education. WITEA-ID intends to contribute to the development of the infrastructure necessary for learning events with transnational and international participants on the side of students as well as teachers. Opening such events to the broader public due to digital transfer of the teaching sessions should enable more inclusivity of education overcoming geographical, health, and other obstacles and age barriers. See for more information https://witea-id.eu/.

Since the workshop is interactive it is advisable that participants have their own laptops or tablets.
