25 | DIM ESEE-2 INNOVATION WORKSHOP

DIM ESEE v.2: Implementing innovations is a lifelong learning project focused on rising innovativeness among raw materials professionals in the region of Eastern and Southeastern Europe (ESEE), and is based on positive results and success of previous DIM ESEE school (2016-2020). This year’s workshop, prepared by Montanuniversitat Leoben, will address several innovative extraction methods and review various technologies. Best case practices will form the basis for additional project work.

1. Extraction of mineral raw materials by blasting and sustainable low-impact mining (automatic blast design software based on improved rock mass characterisation and fragmentation models for optimum fragmentation)
2. Extraction of mineral raw materials by mechanical cutting and other innovative methods, focusing on hard rock cutting, water-assisted cutting and micro-wave assisted excavation
3. Best cases: SANDVIK MX650 hard rock tunnel development machine (EIT RMRock Vader project) and the EPIROC Mobile Miner

 

Raw materials professionals with good command of English language and basic knowledge related to annual topic, working in one of the following fields: Mining Engineering, Geology, Applied Earth Sciences, Mechanics and similar are invited to apply. Follow our website for more information.
