At the ESA Summer School 2022, we will explore the relevance and potential of Sociology to represent, address and overcome the multiple crises and severe challenges which current societies are facing. Taking the overarching theme of Sociology Matters, our analysis and critical conversations will focus upon: the role of theory; pertinent methodologies, methods and practices of conducting research; as well as the practical impact or application of sociological research on our wider social environments and wider publics. We welcome postgraduate students who want to engage in discussion about: the complex relations between theoretical and empirical level of analysis; creative applications of sociological knowledge and research; and we will also focus on the article publication process. All participants will be provided with a solid foundation in peer mentoring and networking experience, with other doctoral students’ fellows.
