Conference description:

In 1809 Schelling published the essay Über das Wesen der menschlichen Freiheit und die damit zusammenhängenden Gegenstände (Philosophical Investigations into the Essence of Human Freedom and Matters Connected Therewith), where he deals with the question of the origin and the substance of freedom as well with that of good and evil. The fifth-day summer course in Dubrovnik aims to provide a deeper insight into the text in the form of lectures, joint discussion and reading of selected texts. The papers will be primarily focused on the comment text, although some lectures will be dedicated to other and broader, but related topics of Schelling's oeuvre. In addition, papers can also be proposed that go beyond the text stock and introduce related topics in the context of the text. With senior speakers the Course will be attended by advanced students, doctoral students and postdocs.
