Social justice in its distributive, political, and everyday life senses – is one of the key themes in contemporary society and social sciences. We propose a course to examine the quest for social justice in each of its multifaceted formations: as a problem in institutional design and/or procedure in post-communist societies; as a structural problem determined by the opportunities for and barriers to social mobility; as a fundamental issue in establishment of Euro-citizenship; as a concern in the daily lives through identity dynamics and interpersonal relations and as a cause of political change. The papers and discussions in the course will range from the macro to the micro levels of analysis of social justice, its modes, processes and realization. The course will encompass a broad range of research strategies.
The programme offers ECTS credits (3 ECTS points for the participats who actively participate in the activities of the course).
