On 13 May 2006, a delegation from the University of Bergen, Norway, visited the Inter-University Centre. The 20-strong group, headed by Rector Sigmund Grnmo, included Prorector and Vice-Rectors, University Director Kre Rommetveit and Deputy Directors, and Deans of the university's faculties.

The group met Dr Krunoslav Pisk, Director General of the IUC, and was informed by him and by Ms Berta Dragičević about the history, development, and current agenda of the IUC.

The Norwegian Ambassador to Croatia, Ms Elisabeth Walaas, informed the delegation about the current situation in Croatia and in the region generally.

During the stay in Dubrovnik and at the IUC the group also conducted a series of meetings discussing current policy issues involving the organisation of research and other matters of importance in the life of the university.

The University of Bergen has been strongly involved in associations with the IUC and its international network since the founding of the IUC in the early seventies and the leadership of the university expresses hopes of continued successful cooperation also in the future.
